Connect WhatsApp
WhatsApp connects by scanning a QR code. You do not need to enter a phone number manually.
How the connection works
The app generates a QR code, and the connection finishes through WhatsApp's Linked Devices flow on your phone.
- No bot token is required.
- You do not type the phone number manually.
- Once scanning succeeds, the app recognizes the account and refreshes the status automatically.
Setup steps

Open Channels from the sidebar in Semo and find the WhatsApp card.

Press Connect to open the setup modal.

Press Generate QR Code and wait for the QR to appear.

On your phone, open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Linked Devices > Link a Device.

Scan the QR code to complete the connection.
What happens after connection
- On success, the app automatically saves the config and refreshes the live status.
- You can return to the Channels screen and verify the status dot on the card.
- If the connection later drops, the primary card action changes to Reconnect.
Common things to check
- If the QR code is stale or scanning fails, use Refresh Code and try again.
- WhatsApp setup depends on having access to the Linked Devices flow on your phone.
- If you reopen the QR modal later, the flow starts again from Generate QR Code.
